South Cowichan.
The sea-to-sky scenic views of the Malahat and Bamberton are the last stop in the Cowichan region on the drive south. Enjoy the peaceful beachfront and clear waters of Bamberton with a night’s camping at Bamberton Provincial Park before enjoying the vistas from the Malahat Drive—best enjoyed by safely parking up. Head to Split Rock Lookout, the Malahat Summit Viewpoint, sitting at 356m, or the Malahat SkyWalk which blends education about our temperate ecosystem with awe-inspiring views from the top of their accessible Spiral Tower 250m above sea level.

The Malahat area also has spectacular hidden-away spots worth finding. Seek out the Yos Pole—an Indigenous carved pole near the Shawnigan Creek Bridge—by bike or on foot, enjoy a spot of fishing at the aptly-named Spectacle Lake, or move mindfully through the forest atop a new friend from Maple Heart Ranch. Lean into nature’s regenerative benefits and a little slice of Europe at the historic Villa Eyrie—a luxurious hillside retreat with unparalleled views.
