Quintessential Cowichan.

Stretching from west to east over Highway 1, Cobble Hill is a quintessential Cowichan experience of family-owned farmland meeting sea. Vineyards, a smattering of produce farms, and the chance to sample heritage apples-turned-cider at Merridale Cidery and Distillery can all be found here. Visit a few spots and then stay for a patio meal at one of our wineries to truly soak up the stories behind every sip.

Country roads

Take side roads dotted with artist studios and a smattering of eateries that showcase the rural pace. The expansiveness of the open sky has seeped into our proprietors’ spirit—sparking entrepreneurship for culinary festivals and innovative practices that put sustainability for people and the planet first.

Pastures & vistas

The full spread of this part of the Cowichan region can be best appreciated by visiting its numerous trails. Cobble Hill Mountain Regional Recreation Area invites bikers and hikers to move through tall trees, mossy bluffs, and viewpoints looking out across abundant fields to the ocean (and as far as Mount Baker on a clear day). Less strenuous exploration past waterfalls, creeks, and scenic views can be found closer to the coast at Manley Creek Park and Granfield Way.
