Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre

An interpretive nature centre with hands-on learning for all ages about birds, marine life, the Cowichan Estuary, and its watershed.

Introduction

The nature interpretive centre overlooks the Cowichan Estuary and offers opportunities for visitors of all ages to learn about the estuary, marine life, Cowichan Bay, and the Cowichan and Koksilah watersheds through informative interactive exhibits and fun hands-on activities. There’s a lot to see both inside and outside the centre, including a live camera to view the heron rookery.

After you’ve explored the inside of the nature centre, you can take a walk along the interpretive trail leading to the viewing tower. There are many wonderful native plants to enjoy along this trail, as well as bird and other wildlife watching opportunities.
