Saltair flair

The village of Saltair lives up to its name—a small community that celebrates rural life with its beautiful coastal views and forest trails. Here, it’s not uncommon to bump into an artist on the foreshore, peacefully surveying the view for inspiration. A gathering of this nature-inspired work can be seen at the Saltair Community Centre which hosts seasonal art shows and workshops. Pop-up performances, like the Vancouver Island Symphony Pop-Up Series, also offer occasional summer surprises.

Rural ambiance

Saltair’s rural ambience is particularly felt through the access the Cowichan Valley Trail provides. The trail is suitable for runners, walkers, and cyclists and includes sections of the old E&N Railway line. Other trails can be found at Stocking Creek Park which is more rugged and takes in Stocking Creek Waterfall, wildflower meadows, and lush forest. The Diana, Princess of Wales Park can be found close to Saltair’s centre.
